The Lionakis Foundation recently hosted the River City Food Bank for a lunch and learn–Lionakis’ first charity to give back to in 2019. The River City Food Bank came and shared their mission for alleviating hunger in Sacramento County through providing healthy emergency food and other assistance, offering referrals and promoting self-sufficiency through a variety of programs. The River City Food Bank hosts seniors to children, and homeless to the working poor, as well as struggling individuals and families in Sacramento County.

Making a Difference in the Community

The giving of $10 bought a soup lunch for those who were in attendance at the Lunch and Learn, as well as raffle tickets for the drawing at the end. Homemade bowls made by those within the greater Sacramento community were raffled off to Lionakis attendees to kick-off the upcoming “Empty Bowls” event that the food bank hosts annually. Concluding the Lunch and Learn, the Lionakis Foundation presented the River City Food Bank with a check to be contributed toward their mission. Additionally, the Lionakis team volunteered at the River City Food Bank St. Matthew’s location this past Saturday for a day of giving back. The volunteers in attendance helped with various tasks that the location could use an extra helping hand with, as well as served food. The Lionakis Foundation is honored to give back to our community and we’re looking forward to all that is to come in 2019 for all of our nominated charities!
