Lionakis once again competed in IIDA’s 6th Annual Merge Fashion Show on Saturday night at the Tsakopoulous Library Galleria. The theme for this year’s show was Mythical Creatures and Lionakis was assigned the Harpy. A Harpy is similar to a Siren but instead has a bird’s body with a beautiful woman’s face. The other competing design teams included HY Architects (Elf), HGA (Werewolf), Stantec (Phoenix), DLR Group (Griffin), LPAS (Arachne), Dreyfuss & Blackford (Vampire), Sac State (Dragon), and the Art Institute (Fairy).  Lionakis’ team consisted of Annalise Baird, Erin Toves, Robin Bugbee, Marissa Pollock, Trevor Pollock, Shawn Barnum, and Ann Wright. Our model was Robin’s daughter, Kameron, who did an incredible job!

Each team was challenged to transform randomly assigned architectural materials into a couture runway garment in only four hours. Our team worked diligently together in this duration and in the end created a very successful piece. We are proud to announce our team finally broke Lionakis’ losing streak by taking home two awards this year: “Best Use of Materials” and “Crowd Favorite”! We couldn’t be more proud and excited of our victory. Congratulations to everyone involved in a job well done at such a fun event. #Merge2016 #TeamLionakis
