Lionakis employees got together Saturday morning to volunteer with the Lionakis Foundation at Soil Born Farms. They spent 4 hours helping prep a future tree grove site, weeding flower beds and planting seedlings for germination. They were also able to listen to the live string music entertaining everyone at the 4th Annual Tomato Jubilee on the Farm. Soil Born Born Farms is a non-profit organization that encourages healthy living and food in an environmentally sustainable way. Through community monetary donations, a social media campaign and volunteer efforts, the organization was able to work with Lionakis to construct a new outdoor open air classroom and demonstration kitchen, which is used as an education space for youth and adult programs, as well as a space to hold fundraising events. This is just one of many occasions Lionakis has spent the day volunteering at the farm. If you haven’t been to Soil Born Farms, you definitely need to check it out!

Fun fact of the Day: A rogue, feral hen was spotted on the Soil Born Farm grounds that day. The hen has survived living on the farm for 4 years despite all the coyotes that roam the parkway.
