UCI Health B1A IR 10 Remodel

The UCI Health B1A IR 10 Remodel project transformed an existing staff break area and reading room into an updated interventional radiology suite with dedicated procedure and control rooms. To optimize the clinical environment, supporting equipment, including storage cabinets and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) were strategically placed across the corridor in a separate equipment room, reducing noise and heat while maximizing storage capacity. Through careful planning and coordination with the Owner, the team successfully installed necessary cabling beneath an active corridor, working within maximum cable length constraints.
The design efficiently repurposed existing abandoned steel structures overhead, minimizing the need for new structural support beams for the ceiling-mounted C-arm and equipment booms. The installation of a Philips Azurion 7 C20 FlexArm system provides patients access to advanced interventional radiology procedures, representing a significant enhancement to the facility’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
