Bottlecraft – North Park & Little Italy

Brian Jensen

At Bottlecraft North Park, obrARCHITECTURE, A Lionakis Company, designed the full interior of an existing building, including a custom concrete sales counter, Baltic birch shelving, and specialty finishes. The standout detail is pendant light fixtures fabricated from used beer kegs, fabricated in collaboration with local makers which highlight the sales area, while a small kitchen added at the rear is home to Venissimo Cheese, a boutique cheese shop.

At Bottlecraft Little Italy, the concept anchors a new mixed-use development with a design built around an unlikely centerpiece: an intermodal shipping container repurposed as both coldbox and tasting mezzanine. Customizable acrylic panels enclose the stairway and mezzanine, giving individual brewers space to make the experience their own. A solid surface bar top wraps the coldbox, sectional roll-up doors open the front façade to the street, and a steel-railed sidewalk café extends the experience onto the sidewalk, inviting the neighborhood in.
