Elk Grove High School Culinary Classroom Addition

Elk Grove Unified School District

Every large transformation has to start somewhere, and for Elk Grove High School, it started in the kitchen.
The new Culinary Arts facility, funded through the State School Facility Program's CTE program, replaces an aging Home Economics lab with a state-of-the-art training environment where students learn professional culinary skills, operate a full catering program, and run pop-up meal events for the broader school community. It is a program with a real audience and real stakes—exactly the kind of hands-on learning experience that CTE funding is meant to create. As Phase 1 of a multi-phase campus transformation, it set the tone for everything that follows.
