Aiming to strike the perfect balance between a dive bar and high-end cocktail lounge, Happy Medium is the venue for any occasion—catching up with old friends, enjoying a date night, celebrating a milestone, or working remotely on a Friday. obrARCHITECTURE, a Lionakis Company, collaborated closely with the owners to craft a space that is airy, quirky, and relaxed.
The bar’s vibrant terrazzo concrete countertop and emerald tile bar face set a lively and inviting tone. The street-corner location and large, roll-up windows creates a bar that takes full advantage of San Diego’s beautiful weather. Happy Medium seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot to linger from afternoon into evening.
In addition, a portion of the space has been transformed into Lou’s Deli. With an awning and outdoor service counter, this New York-style lunch spot adds a touch of simplicity and nostalgia to the overall eclectic atmosphere of Happy Medium.
