St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church
Founded in 1998, Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Church has grown into a parish of more than 250 families. The New Sanctuary, completed in 2023, fulfills a campus master plan more than two decades in the making.
The Byzantine-style building speaks the architectural language of village churches in Greece—masonry, clay tile roofing, and stucco that feel timeless rather than designed. The 49-foot dome presented one of the project's defining construction challenges: given its weight, size, and limited site access, the team assembled the dome's structure in the parking lot and craned it into place. A 1,000-pound bell commissioned from a foundry in Greece was installed in the bell tower, tolling every Sunday morning to call the faithful to liturgy. The gold-leaf crosses were fabricated by parishioners themselves.
Inside, 16 clerestory windows flood the nave with natural light beneath the 46-foot dome. Hand-carved furniture, entry doors, sterling silver liturgical fixtures, and tapestries were crafted by artisans in Thessaloniki. An arched covered walkway connects the sanctuary to Founders Hall, framing views of the dome through a cloister-like procession to the Plateia beyond.
The grounds reflect the parish's commitment to sustainability: over 90 fruit and olive trees, a vineyard of Cypriot varietals producing sacramental wine, and a residential bee colony completing an ecosystem rooted in the monasteries of Greece.
