St. Jude Medical Center CT 2 Replacement

Providence Health

In a busy radiology department, the time between patients is as important as the time with them. Upgrades to St. Jude Medical Center's radiology department addressed both equipment performance and infection control—two priorities that, when addressed, compound each other's impact.

The project replaced an existing CT scanner with a new Siemens CT Force and swapped out a vendor-provided rooftop chiller, modernizing the department's core infrastructure. The more operationally significant improvement came in how the room itself was redesigned to manage air quality between scans: a HEPA filter and localized ceiling-mounted fan now recirculate the air after each patient at the flip of a switch, reducing cleaning time and allowing the department to serve more patients each day. In a hospital environment where infection control is a constant concern, the solution is as practical as it is effective.
