Yolo County Juvenile Hall Multi-Purpose Facility

Yolo County

Rehabilitation for young people doesn't happen in a single space or a single moment — it happens across a continuum of programming, family connection, and community support. The new Multi-Purpose Center at Yolo County's juvenile detention facility was designed to expand year-round recreational options, contact visitation, and therapeutic programming to support that continuum.

Connected to the existing Juvenile Detention Facility via a secure walkway, the addition was designed as a natural extension of the campus, matching the existing architecture while introducing the flexible, welcoming spaces the County's rehabilitation vision required. Family counseling, parenting classes, and community events now have a home that feels appropriate to their purpose. A well-defined public entry, integrated art, and thoughtful landscaping signal that this is not just a secured facility with a new wing, but a campus which welcomes the public, blends seamlessly with the existing campus, and creates a sense of community pride.
