Lionakis is proud to sponsor the next generation of designers, architects and builders through the CREATE Program via the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX). The purpose of the CREATE Mentoring Program is to educate and inspire students to pursue career pathways which create the built environment. CREATE is part of the SRBX Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization. This year, over 250 youth from thirteen high schools in the Sacramento region took part in this program. The students were mentored by over 60 industry professionals from more than 40 companies who volunteered their time and service.

We wanted to take the opportunity to recognize, and thank the Lionakis CREATE Mentors this year:

Casey Wong, Designer in our Education and Architecture Studio, mentored at River City High School and is also a CREATE Alum himself! Casey worked as a summer intern at Lionakis last year and upon graduation was offered a full-time position with Lionakis.

Ikenna Okemiri, Project Designer in our Civic and Architecture Studio, mentored at Rosemont High School and also recently received the Commision and rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Airforce.

Joyce Fuss, Associate in Engineering, mentored at Cordova High School and has worked at Lionakis for 25 years. Her work with CREATE has introduced dozens of students to the offices, staff and mentorship opportunities available at Lionakis.

The next SRBX Education Foundation event is Design-Build on May 2-3, 2018.
