For the past four years, Lionakis has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento for the PG&E Summer Jobs Program for students 15-18 years of age. This year’s intern is Garrett and his dream is to become a lawyer. We are happy to show him the inner workings of our office for the summer!

Here’s a little background about the summer job program:
In “Phase 1” of the program, 160 teens are selected to complete six weeks of the “Career Launch” curriculum where they are taught how to write a resume and cover letter, how to interview, how to manage finances, how to deal with grievances in the workplace, and how to be a stellar employee.  All of the teens who complete Career Launch will have the opportunity to interview for one of 55 PAID Summer Internships.

In “Phase 2”, the 55 teens who were selected for internships will work for six weeks.  The interns work at partner worksites, which have included businesses such as: Lionakis, Sacramento Food Bank, Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Office of the Mayor, Teichert Construction and many other local businesses.  Interns are at their worksites Monday-Thursday, and on Fridays all interns report to the Raley Teen Center for Professional Development Days.
