Our first new campus, Miwok Village Elementary School within Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD), is about 50% of the way done with construction! The new campus is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022! This is the first elementary school designed for EGUSD using their new Educational Specification with a focus on making thoughtful connections between learning and the facilities we design. Each of the classroom “wings” are made up of nine classrooms with equal access to a centrally shared collaboration space used for small group sessions. These activity spaces are flexible learning environments that will also have a focus on educating today’s students on the historic past of the area that was inhabited by the Miwok Tribe.
Currently, we are working directly with representatives from the Miwok Tribe to incorporate their language, origin stories, and culture into the overall design of the school and campus. The 10 acre site will be home to 800 students that reside in the Laguna Ridge neighborhoods of south Elk Grove.  There are seven buildings that are currently at all different stages of construction, including the Administration, Classroom Wings, Library, and Multipurpose Buildings.
The current drone photos in the gallery below as well as the live webcam where you can view the ongoing construction progress are provided by our General Contractor Partner, Clark/Sullivan Construction! We are thrilled for this campus to be coming to life and can’t wait to see all the progress to come!
