As 2017 came to a close, Lionakis said farewell to retiring Principal, Dave Younger. After 30 years of service to the firm and the Educational community, he has hung his hat here at Lionakis and leaves with us a lasting legacy. He is a mentor, colleague and friend who will be missed by many. We took some time to celebrate Dave’s 30 years at an internal event this past summer (on the anniversary of his actual hire date) and then again on his last day this past December. He shared with us some stories of his time here, including memories of past Lionakis offices and even better, some ancient technology known as “floppy disks.” Sacramento staff shared a cheery champagne toast and wished Dave the best on his journey through retirement and relaxation.

A few surprise guests turned up at these events to wish Dave and his family the very best for the coming years and Dave reminisced about his career trials and triumphs and he even pulled out some drafting pens and supplies from the 1980’s that he still had in his office! His team paid special tribute by creating a wall mural called “The Twelve Dave’s of Christmas” and it was impossible not to smile at the sweet humor and obvious admiration they all have for him.

Congratulations again Dave! As your colleagues and friends stated one after the other: You will be missed and have made an incredible mark on those who have been honored to work with you over the last 30 years.
