Our Emerging Professionals team is incredibly excited to have won the Firm Mentorship Award from the AIA California’s Academy of Emerging Professionals! The AIA is currently celebrating 75 years of service and the EP Academy is focused on advancing local and regional excellence through its programs and support services. The Firm Mentorship Award recognizes a firm that has made an extraordinary effort to mentor Emerging Professionals through the implementation of specific programs. This is the second time that Lionakis has been honored with this award and we are very committed to continuing to assist our Emerging Professionals in pursuing their personal and professional goals. The Firm Mentorship award recognizes that:

“These individuals embody the importance of Emerging Professional AIA members and their contribution to the current environment and the future of architecture.”

On behalf of the Lionakis Emerging Professionals team and program, Architect Matthew Harris attended the AIA California Design Awards event at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles on November 6th. With hundreds in attendance at the semi-formal event, there were appetizers, cocktails and plenty of Sacramento and Southern California representation. The award was presented to us by Lawrence Scarpa, who was one of the jurors and he made a special mention that our letters of reference really made all the difference to the jury!

“Lionakis was not only recognized for their strong list of resources and various avenues down the path towards licensure, but also for their engagement with the emerging professionals they have on staff. Within the portfolio…were several letters from either current or former emerging professionals…who reiterated the strong ties they have with Lionakis for their leadership and support.” Shannon Calder, Communications Director AIA California

The Emerging Professionals program at Lionakis continues to be a driving force for both our young professionals pursuing licensure, and our experienced Architects with decades of experience in the field who lend their knowledge, coaching and in-valuable presence on projects and in the profession.

As the recognized voice of the Architectural Profession in California, the AIA actively promotes the value of design and advocates for the architectural professions. With over 11,000 members, Lionakis shares their dedication and passion to design excellence and livability in California’s natural and built environments. Congratulations to all in the Lionakis EP program for your dedication and hard work, and thank you to the AIA Academy for Emerging Professionals for this recognition.
