The new Paso Verde K-8 Campus is complete! The new photos in the gallery below showcase this exciting new campus in the Natomas Unified School District. Home to approximately 1,000 students, the six buildings include four classroom wings, an administration area, kindergarten, library and multipurpose room/gymnasium.

Supporting the school’s robust Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) program, each of the classroom wings has been designed to have flexible collaboration support spaces. These NextGEN breakout spaces provide opportunities for hands-on learning, while maintaining classroom connections and giving students choices for how they want to connect – including varieties of mobile seating, flexible furnishings and whiteboards.

The Lionakis Design Team wanted to honor the area’s deep agricultural roots throughout the campus, but especially in the classroom buildings. Inspiration was drawn from the natural patterns of different fruits and vegetables, providing not only a rich and stimulating texture to the spaces, but also plenty of opportunities to put learning on display with educational “fun facts.” The outdoor spaces provide many additional opportunities for hands on learning – and playing.
