The  Yolo County Monroe Jail Expansion and Renovation is now complete! Lionakis served as the Architect of Record on this Design-Bid-Build project. This large and multi-phased addition and renovation AB900 project encompassed a total of over 63,000 additional square feet, with a construction budget of just over $30 million. The scope and the just-finished photography shows the much needed new kitchen, laundry and additional housing for 32 beds. Access was also improved for medical and mental health facilities, and a new day reporting center and expanded intake/release area are also included. The visitation center allows for video and in-person, non-contact spaces.

This project, which broke ground in July of 2018, fulfills the crucial need of physical space for both in-custody and out-of-custody inmates which provides treatment, academic and vocational programs within a structured and monitored environment. The additional mental health housing and acute mental health spaces now allow for better overall treatment solutions as well. Lionakis has worked with Yolo County on the master planning of multiple projects on this same campus including the Juvenile Hall Expansion, and the Leinberger Replacement Facility.
