Paso Verde K-8 School

Home to approximately 1,000 students, Natomas Unified School District’s new Paso Verde K-8 School includes the six buildings with four classroom wings, an administration area, kindergarten, library, and multipurpose room/gymnasium. Supporting the school’s robust Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) program, each of the classroom wings was designed with flexible collaboration spaces to provide opportunities for hands-on learning. Honoring the area’s deep agricultural roots throughout the campus, inspiration was drawn from the natural patterns of different fruits and vegetables, providing not only a rich and stimulating texture to spaces, but also plenty of opportunities to put learning on display with educational “fun facts.” The outdoor spaces provide many additional opportunities for hands on learning and playing.
